Fire back: In theory, a person having easy access to guns should deter a would-be crook. Such was not the case at a gun store on Wilkinson Boulevard last week. An employee told police that a ballsy suspect picked up a large rifle fitted with a scope and bipod and walked out of the store. He was arrested, but it could have been worse.
Squatting: A real estate agent called police after realizing that some shady characters had taken up residence in one of her homes without her permission. The woman went to check on a property in Ballantyne for the first time in two weeks and found a semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, cigarette butts, trash and a used facial razor.
Just Looking: A Charlottean flying out of the city arrived at her destination to find that her property had been messed with. The woman reported that once she was in her hotel room, she opened her luggage to find a note inside stating the bag had been inspected by the TSA. They must have had a problem with her optics because she also reported her eyeglasses and $400 missing from the suitcase.
Don't touch: A group of men may have chosen the wrong guys to rob on Harris Boulevard last week. Then again, maybe not. The group of six attacked the men and made off with their laptop and the backpack the computer was in. According to the report, the backpack had the word "Killa" written across it.
Getting Handsy: A 20-year-old woman working at India Grocers in University City took issue last week with the way she was treated at work. She filed an assault report after one of her bosses allegedly grabbed her by the shoulders and marched her to the register, where she was supposed to be working a shift.
Threat of the Week: A Food Lion security guard ran into a moody shopper last week while working his Sunday shift. The victim told police that the suspect was standing in line at 10 a.m. and started harassing the guard. The suspect said, "Why don't you go and catch some shoplifters and do your job? Take your gun off and I'm going to beat your ass." After paying for his groceries, the man was walked out of the store, but not without some parting words for the guard. "Don't make me do this shit on a Sunday. Take that gun off so I can kill you with my bare hands."
