"Behold the Man": Personally Speaking Talk by Kent L. Brintnall

When: Wed., Nov. 14, 6:30 p.m. 2012

As part of UNC Charlotte's Personally Speaking series, Brintnall will speak on the research that resulted in his book, “Ecce Homo,” or “Behold the Man,” which touches on art, religion, violence and sex and which critics have called engaging and precisely balanced. He will focus on Francis Bacon's paintings and their depiction of suffering male bodies, and their relation to more traditional crucifixion imagery, as well as how they connect to claims of masculine power and privilege. A reception and book-signing follow. Parking tokens will be provided. The public is welcome. RSVP to CLAS-Event@uncc.edu or 704-687-0085.
