Becky, Okay so let's visit the theoretical side of sex! Correct me if I am wrong but, it is safe to say "theoretical". Being able to speak openly about what we think a person should be feeling as a result of a "sexual act" is theory. Not to discredit the Teaching. Meanwhile know what has happen lead up to a "sexual act" or is happening during a "sexual act" is another story. Congratulations on your position as a sexologist. good luck with that. I do hope that you are able to relate to "the down and dirty" and "the nitty to the gritty". While you understand the theory, I challenge you to understand the Actual!

Marriages (whether or not you have done the legal paperwork) are not built on monogamy, they are built on trust. It is not the person on the side that destroys the relationship, it is the betrayal of the trust. It can be just as easily destroyed by ANY betrayal of the trust: Secret drugs or drinking, hiding or secretly diverting money, getting arrested for crimes your mate didn't know you were committing, or any other significant lie suddenly discovered.

Isn't it funny how the rest of that anti-gay bit in Leviticus never gets air time. It goes on to condemn as sinful - right after the "homosexuals are an abomination" bit - that tattoos are evil, too. What else? Try having debt or playing the lottery, wearing clothing that is made up of two different cloths, eating shellfish, snacking on certain bugs, heavy drinking plus any woman who has her period should be locked away as she is filthy.
The church is filled with little rules to keep the little minds busy while the huge world spins wildly out of control and they reach for anything to make them feel safe.

Don't ask, don't tell is a terrible idea. Marriages are not built on monogamy, they are built on trust. If other people are invited to participate in your sex life it must be with the express permission of your mate, and your mate has the right to know about every instance. "Don't tell" is cheating. The fact that your mate knows you cheat doesn't change that. If you don't want to know, then you have not really given permission, you are pretending it's not happening. That will be a burr under your saddle for a very long time.
