I use a Vitamix to blend my veggies. It does a fantastic job making a vegetable juice. I was wondering though what are your thoughts are on keeping the fiber in the juice like what the Vitamix does?
This recipe actually calls for 2 whole sticks of butter, not half sticks. Cooking times may differ based on your oven, which is probably why you're ending up with excess butter in the pan. Try cooking it longer. As you can see in the photo, you shouldn't have excess butter once it's thoroughly cooked.
I tried this today but accidentally used all-purpose flour, rather than cake. I'm no baking expert (though I am a scientist) and expected that it would rise more than normal, since there is more protein for forming the structure. However, I did not get a very good rise. Am I wrong about which should rise more? It sounds like you normally get a good rise out of this recipe, right? Other than being a little flat, this was very tasty! Thanks for posting!!
I think it was held last Saturday.
Looks Yummy . Thanks for sharing this recipe.
You might want to add that Cold Brew reduces the acidity of coffee by 70% - great for folks who might have digestive problems.
I made the recipe and added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to batter mix. It came out great although I would recommend using one stick of butter instead of two.
I'm a teen baker and my cobbler turned out really good, except for the excess butter. That was easily fixed by simply pouring it out when it was done. Thanks! :D
Sc44 I bet it's the half sticks then 2 would be one whole stick. Just my guess though.
I made this recipe and I think it has WAAAAYYY to much butter. After 1 hour and 15 min, the butter was still pooled on the top... Did not look like a cobbler. I read other cobbler recipes and they called for as little as 2T butter, as much as 1/4 cup. This called for 2 whole sticks!!
This is a great recipe! I've made it a few times now, and find that if you're willing to make it *slightly* less healthy, sauteing the onions in 2 tbs butter (until they go translucent,) and then adding the spices and sauteing for another minute or so before adding everything to the crock pot really brings out the flavors of the onions and spices, and prevents the flavors from becoming muddled after a long session in the cooker. Also, if you're a fan of ginger, about 2 inches of fresh ginger, sliced in to strips goes beautifully with the flavors of this dish, and can be added to the sauteed onions, at the same time as the rest of the spices.
I have been there yesterday and the food is fantastic. Not to mention the warm welcome that the staff, owner and chef gave to us! It is a truly fantastic dining experience.
These aren't all of the events, just those most recommended by the founder of Charlotte Craft Beer Week.
Wow Salud's anniversary party isn't listed
I am prejudiced. Mostly because it is mine. Also, I am making my popular Prejudiced Pilsner this summer. It will be delicious.
Jucing messes up my blood sugar and feeds candida. Plus the amount of veggies it takes for one glass of juice is out of my budget. So I went with veggie Smoothies and I love them! Don't discount the fiber in those veggies. For me all the benefits of jucing and none of the fuss. Plus I manage to eat more veggies every meal.
Good reading. I have never tasted your end product, but will take you at your word that it is awesome.
I am not prejudiced.
I always check out this website for healthy and tasy recipe's - www.excellentprotein.com - My favourite is the sugar free chocolate pudding because it just tastes amazing
